PHASE 6: IMPLEMENTATION

Jan 2018

Implementation Steering Committee and Working Groups

The dean will appoint an implementation steering committee and working groups to enact the plan. The steering committee will be composed of associate and assistant deans and leadership staff, and working groups will include faculty, students, and staff with broad representation from the range of disciplines in the college.

2018 – 2023

Implementation Process

The steering committee will be tasked with prioritizing strategic plan initiatives and setting annual action plans. Each year, the steering committee will select the specific action steps that the college will focus on in the upcoming academic year.

The steering committee will form working groups to support the implementation of specific action items. Working groups will be assigned and dissolved annually or as action items are selected for implementation and completed. In consultation with working groups, the steering committee will set more precise, short-term metrics to drive and track our progress. The working groups will provide input on implementation priorities to the steering committee, coordinate efforts to accomplish action steps related to their assigned goal, and solicit feedback from the larger college community when appropriate.

PHASE 7: EVALUATION

2018 – 2023

Evaluation Cycle

The Dean’s Office will track and report on the metrics identified in the strategic plan on an academic year cycle. The college may add new categories to its existing annual report template and collect additional data from departments to track progress.

At the end of the five-year period, the Dean’s Office will produce a comprehensive report to account for the college’s advancement during the lifespan of the 2018-2023 strategic plan.
